Happy Tails

Since it opened in August of 2012, Before the Bridge has rescued nearly 400 dogs. There have been countless pickups, vet visits, fundraisers, and adoption fairs. There are long days and sad days, but no days better than the ones where a sweet senior dog finds their forever home and family. Here are just a few of our dogs with a “happy tail” to tell.

Meet SOPHIE a Doxie/Jack Russel Mix who is only 4 years old and was surrendered because the wife was pregnant and claimed Sophie's smell made her nauseous (she was the husbands dog). Sophie got adopted and while lifting her into the car she panicked and bit her new owner. So back to the Humane Society. There is no history of biting whatsoever. We all know Sophie is a flight risk who ran away from her foster an hour after arriving in Canada. Sophie is up to date with vaccinations, spayed and loves to cuddle. She is very timid until she gets to know you. Her foster family reports she is settling into their home nicely. She loves her walks and is 100% housetrained.
