Born July 6, 2019, Rusty has two favorite things: staying as close to his human as possible and napping in the sun. He’s a lovable little Velcro dog who loves cuddles, follows his people everywhere, and is happiest curled up beside you.
Rusty is a great eater and is mostly house-trained, with only the occasional marking. When he’s not your loyal shadow, you’ll find him stretched out in the warmest sunny spot in the house.
Rusty is looking for a forever family that will appreciate his affectionate nature, love of snuggles, and unwavering loyalty. If you’re looking for a sweet companion to fill your home with love, Rusty is your guy.

Born June 22, 2025, Maizie is a playful, adventurous puppy who loves squeaky toys, belly rubs, and spending as much time outdoors as possible. She’s doing great with housetraining, has a healthy appetite, and loves to curl up with her foster mom after a day of fun.
Maizie is friendly with everyone she meets, including children, dogs, and cats. She is also a tripod, with a fused spine and a small spinal defect that doesn’t slow her down one bit. She runs, plays, explores, and cuddles with endless confidence and joy.
Maizie is looking for a family who will embrace her adventurous spirit and shower her with love. In return, she’ll bring laughter, cuddles, and a lifetime of unforgettable memories.

At just 7 pounds, 13-year-old Ginger is a tiny sweetheart looking for a loving retirement home. She’s wonderful with other dogs, is both house-trained and pee pad trained, and absolutely loves treats, making it easy to win her heart.
Ginger has a heart murmur that’s well managed with twice-daily medication and doesn’t slow her down. Her only quirky habit is occasionally mistaking bathroom mats for pee pads, so keeping them picked up helps everyone stay happy!
Ginger is looking for a family to spoil her with soft beds, tasty snacks, and gentle love throughout her golden years. In return, she’ll reward you with loyal companionship, endless sweetness, and a heart that’s much bigger than her 7-pound frame.

Age: 4-6 years
Bronco is back with the rescue through no fault of his own, and this boy deserves a fresh start. After coming to us from Winnipeg Animal Services, we learned that Bronco thrives as the only dog in the home. He’s a confident, active, and loyal companion who simply wants a person to call his own.
Despite being moved from foster care to boarding and then into an adoption that didn’t work out, Bronco has never stopped loving people. What he needs now is a stable home with someone who understands he’s happiest as the only pet.
Bronco has been through enough. If you’re looking for a smart, devoted companion and can offer him the forever home he deserves, please reach out to Before The Bridge K9 Rescue.

Age: 8-9 years
Honey is once again looking for her forever home. At approximately 8–9 years old and just 8½ pounds, she’s come a long way since entering foster care. Once fearful and reactive, Honey has blossomed into a loving little companion who enjoys cuddles, affection, and being close to her people. Honey is house-trained, loves a predictable routine, and has done well with respectful children. She would likely be happiest as the only dog, as she prefers being the centre of attention, though she may do well with a confident, dog-savvy companion. Honey is looking for a family who will love her for exactly who she is—a feisty, funny, affectionate little dog with a big personality and an even bigger heart.

Age: 6 Months
Edgar is a 6-month-old Chihuahua mix with a playful personality and an adorable face to match. Once he feels comfortable, he loves to play, explore, and have fun. He can be a little shy around new people, especially men, but with patience and kindness, he quickly begins to shine.
Edgar is making great progress with his house training and would benefit from having a canine playmate. Kids and cats are currently untested.
Edgar is looking for a patient, loving family to help him grow into a confident little companion. In return, he’ll reward you with loyalty, laughter, and plenty of puppy charm.

Age: 1 year
Theo, our once-stray little guy, has settled into his foster home and his personality is shining! At just one year old, he’s playful, curious, affectionate, and convinced everyone should be his best friend. He loves dogs, gets along well with other cats, and is always ready for fun.
Theo is FIV positive, but it doesn’t slow him down one bit. He’s healthy, happy, and can live a long, normal life—he just needs a family willing to look beyond the diagnosis and see the wonderful cat he truly is.
Even better, Theo’s adoption fee has been generously sponsored by Meowtel Inn! If you’re looking for a playful, cuddly companion, Theo is ready to find his forever home.

Age: 11 year
Many of you have been asking about Ziggy, and unfortunately, he’s still in boarding while he waits for a foster or forever home.
At 11 years old, Ziggy is an intelligent, active boy who needs more than just a place to sleep—he needs a purpose. He thrives on adventure, learning, and being with his person. Like many working-type dogs, he needs both mental and physical stimulation to be happy.
Ziggy would do best as the only pet in a home with someone experienced with large, active dogs. He’s loyal, affectionate, and simply wants a best friend to share life with.
After losing the only home he’d ever known when his owner became terminally ill, Ziggy deserves the chance to settle into a loving home once again.
If you can foster or adopt Ziggy, we’d love to hear from you. While he waits, his boarding costs have now exceeded $1,000. If you’d like to help support his care, donations of any amount are greatly appreciated.

Age: 8-9 years
Through no fault of her own, sweet Chloe is looking for a new family. After her owner was hospitalized and is unable to return home, Chloe is now searching for a loving forever home.
Approximately 8–9 years old, Chloe is an affectionate, gentle girl who loves being with her people. She has always been the only pet and would do best in a home where she can remain the centre of attention. She had surgery on both knees when she was younger, so she takes life at a slower pace, but still enjoys spending time with her family.
Chloe is looking for someone to love her through her senior years. If you think she could be the perfect addition to your family, please send us a message and we’ll connect you with her family.
Please note: This is a courtesy post. Chloe is not in the care of Before the Bridge Senior K9 Rescue and is currently safe with family while they search for her forever home.
