Happy Tails

Since it opened in August of 2012, Before the Bridge has rescued more than 500 dogs. There have been countless pickups, vet visits, fundraisers, and adoption fairs. There are long days and sad days, but no days better than the ones where a sweet senior dog finds their forever home and family. Here are just a few of our dogs with a “happy tail” to tell.

Meet TREY, a 4 year old very handsome dachshund, who is up to date on shots and neutered. Trey was a stray who found himself in a kill shelter. Trey is active and smart and is quickly learning commands. He shows some separation anxiety but his foster has been working on it. While he would be best suited as an only dog, he will get along with other dogs with a careful introduction. Trey has not been cat tested, but has a hight prey drive so probably not. He would also be bette suited wih children 12 years and older. He has some food and toy aggression. Trey is very affectionate and gets along with all people in the home. He will jump onto your lap as soon as you sit on the couch. Trey can jump quite high and ideally should have a fully fenced yard. If there is such a thing as an agility wiener, Trey would be it!
