Meet Dunder

COURTESY POST: DUNDER IS LOOKING FOR HIS FOREVER HOME! ❤️

Meet Dunder, a handsome 6-year-old Saint Bernard who is hoping to find a family to call his own!

Dunder is a happy-go-lucky, affectionate, generally laid-back gentleman who loves being around his people and soaking up all the attention he can get. He's a big boy with an even bigger personality, and he's looking for a home that understands and appreciates everything that comes with loving a giant breed — including the shedding, the drool, and the occasional lack of awareness of just how much space he takes up!

🏡 A little about Dunder:

• 6-year-old Saint Bernard • House-trained and crate-trained • Affectionate, friendly, and generally laid-back • Currently lives with an infant, a 2-year-old child, and another dog • Could potentially live with another dog following appropriate introductions • Not recommended for homes with cats • Best suited to a home with children aged 5+ • Would benefit from continued leash training and recall work • No known medical concerns • Not yet neutered

Important information about Dunder's history:

We believe in transparency when it comes to finding the right home for every dog. Approximately 2.5 years ago, Dunder was involved in a bite incident with a 2-year-old nephew that resulted in an injury to the child's ear requiring stitches. This was described as an unexpected incident, and there have been no similar incidents before or since.

In his current home, his biggest challenge around young children is his sheer size and lack of spatial awareness. He can unintentionally bump into or knock over little ones. His bite history is something prospective adopters will need to carefully consider, and an appropriate home with an understanding of dog behaviour, boundaries, and child safety is essential.

Dunder's family has made the difficult decision to find him a new home where he can receive all the love, attention, and companionship he deserves.

📍 Location: Near Russell, Manitoba. Transport may be arranged within reason.

There is no rehoming fee, although a donation to Before The Bridge Senior K9 Rescue would be greatly appreciated.
