Meet Shilo! Our Eight-Year-Old Porkie Looking for His Forever Home! 🐾

Introducing Shilo, an eight-year-old Pomeranian/Yorkshire Terrier mix, affectionately known around here as a Porkie! Weighing in at a whopping nine pounds, this little guy is all personality packed into a tiny package.

Shilo is quite possibly one of the happiest little dogs you'll ever meet. He is absolutely over the moon about being part of a family, having people around, being included in everyday life, and having a whole pack of friends to hang out with. It's clear that this little guy is embracing every bit of family life, and watching him discover just how much fun it can be has been an absolute joy. His little heart is FULL, and he makes sure everyone knows it!

Shilo absolutely adores other dogs. Cats? Couldn't care less. Other dogs? Sign him up!

Being introduced to life with a pack of canine friends has been a game changer for him. He's learning social cues, figuring out how to navigate life with furry friends, and discovering all the fun that comes with being part of a pack.

His introduction to the pack was… enthusiastic, to say the least. On day one, Shilo was convinced that everyone's backside required a thorough inspection. His new friends were less than impressed with his investigative techniques, but with a little feedback and some appropriate corrections from his foster siblings, he's learning!

We'll be honest: Shilo doesn't have a whole lot of manners just yet. He's still figuring things out, and his new foster siblings are helping show him the ropes. He's a work in progress, but he's a willing student!

Despite being eight years old, don't let that number fool you. Shilo is spry, playful, and still has a very puppy-like attitude. He has plenty of pep left in his step and would love a home where he can continue enjoying the company of another playful dog.

And this little gentleman has had quite the glow-up! Shilo has received all of his vaccinations, been neutered, and had a full dental. He did have to say goodbye to most of his teeth, but he's feeling fresh, fabulous, and ready for his next chapter! At nine pounds, he's still got plenty of personality to make up for what he's missing in the dental department. 😂

🏡 What are we looking for in Shilo's forever home?

We are recommending a home with at least one friendly, playful canine companion. We really believe having another dog around will make Shilo happiest. He would benefit from a patient family who understands that he's still learning household manners and doggy etiquette, and who can offer him companionship, attention, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy being a dog.

Apartment living is not advised! Shilo is a Pomeranian, and he takes his job as neighbourhood watch very seriously. He has a lot to say and isn't shy about singing you the song of his people. 🤣😩

Shilo is embracing this next chapter with his whole little heart, and we'd love to find him a forever home where he can continue enjoying all the companionship, friendship, and family life he deserves.
